AIMS Greek Concert Event

As we are coming out of the epidemic crisis and in our sincere commitment to Hellenic culture and history, the Australian Institute of Macedonian Studies and the Australian Institute for Hellenic Research are organizing a Greek Concert and Dancing Night with the most eminent song artist of Greece, DIMITRI BASIS, on Saturday, 28 May 2022, at 7.00 at the Stars International, 1c Bell Street, Preston, to
(a) celebrate and commemorate the immense input of Asia Minor Hellenism (1922-2022)
(b) promote via songs and music the gallantly and the endurance of the Hellenes.

During the first part of this Gala Greek Night, the great musical performer, Dimitris Basis, and his band will perform songs relevant to Hellenism and its recent history, composed and/or performed by Mikis Theodorakis, Markopoulos,  Dimitri Mitropanos, as well as Demotic Songs. The second part will be entertaining and amusing with most popular songs of Basis, Mitropanos, and other most remarkable contemporary performers until the early hours. Doukissa and her bend will also perform on the night, offering a fascinating program.

The Institutes will publish an Impressive, full colored, commemorating Program of 40 pages, illustrating: (a) scenes of Hellenism in Asia Minor and the Greek Asia Minor campaign (1919-1922),
(b) an appraisal of the contribution of Alexander the Great and his campaign in Asia.

The program will be offered gratis to all.

We kindly invite you and your friends to attend and be part of this unforgettable night.

For tickets please contact the Institute.

Please kindly note, that the proceeds will be directed to support research and the scholarship program of the Australian Institute of Macedonian Studies.
