The Society for Macedonian Studies (Εταιρεία Μακεδονικών Σπουδών – Ε.Μ.S.) and the Australian Institute of Macedonian Studies (A.I.M.S.), on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Macedonian Diaspora Communication Network (D.E.O.M.) of the E.M.S. [2016–2026] and the 40th anniversary of the Australian Institute of Macedonian Studies (AIMS) [1986–2026], co-organised a celebratory event which was held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of the E.M.S.
As part of the event, there was a presentation of the anthology “HELLENIC DIASPORA: STUDIES IN HONOR OF MICHAEL DAMANAKIS”
Speakers were:
Dr. Vasileios N. Pappas, President of the EMS
Anastasios M. Tamis, Professor, President of AIMS
The honoree, Associate Professor and former Vice Rector of the University of Crete, Mr. Michael Damanakis, who spoke on the global Greek Diaspora and its education.
